Elena Amati and Giorgio Pescatori, both born in 1962 in Milan, come from work experience that is partly common.

They graduated in Architecture, in 1989 at the Milan Polytechnic, with supervisor Marco Zanuso with a degree thesis on a system of integrated high-tech appliances. They worked in the Zanuso studio from 1988 to 1992, where with Marco Zanuso and Francesco Trabucco they collaborated on various projects, including the expansion of the University of La Sapienza, the new headquarters of Gianfranco Ferrè's offices - formerly Palazzo Gondrand, the Design of the Teatro Stabile di Bolzano, in addition to the invitation competition "Sotto Napoli-Idee for the underground city".

Elena Amati was assistant to Alessandro Ubertazzi in the course of Industrial Design at the Polytechnic of Milan, and of Paolo Zanotto at the European Institute of Design.

Giorgio Pescatori was assistant to Isao Hosoe in the course of Environmental Design at the Politecnico di Milano.

Elena Amati subsequently collaborated with the architects Francesco Trabucco and with the architects Fusi, Rosti and Zanotto on various design projects, some of which were awarded with the gold compass (Briko glasses, Vortice products).

Giorgio Pescatori collaborated with Pier Vittorio Cerruti in the construction of important private residences and in the construction of boat interiors for the San Lorenzo, Codecasa and Spertini Alalunga shipyards.

The Amati & Pescatori studio was founded in 1994, and over the years in addition to the design and construction of private residences, it has in particular deepened the technological-functional themes of the office environment, and those related to the realization of the master plan of hotel structures.

 

The studio deals with interventions in the field of restructuring and interior design, addressing all aspects of the project, from the definition of the layout, to the design of the systems, to the design of custom-made furnishings.

In the redevelopment projects of residences located in prestigious historical contexts, particular attention is paid to the aspects of conservative restoration and recovery and enhancement of the decorative and stylistic elements.
